AT THE FOOT OF THE BED

AU PIED DU LIT
 I had a bench at the foot of the bed for a while; a Louis XVI style bench with caning on top.

It was quite lovely there, but I kept feeling it was somewhat in the way. There was enough space for it but it migrated just a little farther just under the window right in front of it and I find the "flow" much better this way. However, I still do love the look of a seat of some sort at the end of a bed.

A small bench or chair 

A long upholstered piece 

An occasional book shelf

Why not a small sofa. 

If you lack space everywhere else in the room, here is a clever solution: 

a small desk; but may I suggest a chair?
