The ubiquitous minaret- mosque tower-. This clean-lined one near the Tangier flea market.

The doorway into the Kasbah- the hilltop fortified area of Tangier- from the Medina below- the old market neighborhood.

The home of a Middle East Emirat Princess. Stunning. 

Notice they are finally putting down a beautiful new pavement à la française, with its fan shaped design. Great work from very able artisans.

The magnificent York Castle, magnificent no  more. The house- part of the old fortifications of Tangier- which first belonged to the Pasha of Tangier and then, among other owners, to the French CEO of Knoll furniture, is crumbling as you can see in the bottom of the image and is threatening to come tumbling down the hill.  No funds nor will from the city to do anything about it for the moment anyway it seems. Expansion and infrastructure first, conservation later. In Tangier it does make sense. So sad.

The door to this tomb of Marabout Sidi Berraisoul was painted by Matisse during his stay in Tangier in 1912/1913.

These imposing pillars belong to the fabulous shop of ex-Parisian Laure Welfling who designs unbelievable caftans-left- and to the fabulous Hotel Minzah -right 

Doors, some imposing in their obvious artistry, others more modest but just as admirable. 

Windows; modestly ornate or graphically elegant.

And this very amusing one, the work of a very modest but witty artist.
