L'AUTRUCHE OU L'OEUF?
I had a few ostrich eggs at one point, brought back from Tanzania, but moving around took its toll on my collection and I am now left with only two which I try to protect as best I can by displaying them high on the mantle in the living room. One sits on a Catherine Noll bracelet, the other on an antique urn-shaped terracotta dish.
I love the look of an ostrich egg. Simplicity, perfect design, great color and a size that makes a statement even when standing alone.

I also am very fond of Ostrich eggs and Coco de Mer, which I collect. The new Jose Esteves lighting sculpture collection is based on...Ostrich eggs..You should come to his show in my Showroom "Interieurs" on May 4th. If you would like to attend, just send me an email.
ReplyDeleteBon Week End
There's an antique shop here that sells ostrich eggs and now I'm going to have to get a couple. They look wonderful on your mantle and the image just below yours is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThey are a classic in decorating! I love the first photo with the dremel work on them. Your idea of using the Catherine Noll bracelet is quite clever!
ReplyDeleteThose Louis Vuitton windows are the best.
The mantel vignette is beautiful!
