THE LITTLEST CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

LA TOUTE PETITE DECORATION DE NOEL

This 3/4 of an inch high hand-made ornament from the 40's has a painted cloth covered button face, a crocheted bib and cute red baby slippers. I bought it at a small dark Caverne d'Alibaba style shop in western Connecticut years ago for 10 cents. To me it says vintage Americana. 150%.
Why on earth am I featuring this tiny adorable item on my blog in the middle of January?
There is a perfectly good reason: it deserves the mention not only because it is soooo cute but also because, as it must have fallen behind a library armchair when we took down the tree and was found only today, it symbolizes for me the REAL end of the Holiday Season even more than seeing all those discarded Christmas trees on the snow covered curb.
Three words come to mind.
Winter, go away!

I CANNOT WAIT FOR SPRING...

au revoir.

  2. Dear Jeanne, I always find christmas tree needles clear into June or July. Much snow and freezing temperatures here, as well.

  3. Cute little doll I love handmade objects. We have two feet of snow right now with a lot more coming tomorrow. Zero degrees here too but plenty of hope for a touch of warmth since I just started our wood stove.
