LE PONT DES CADENAS
Le Pont des Arts, the “Bridge of the Arts” in Paris is a lovely pedestrian bridge linking the Louvre's Cour Carrée (or “square courtyard”) and the Institut de France. I had not crossed it in quite a while but this summer, on a perfect summer day in Paris, I did just that.
It's railings are now covered with hundreds of locks engraved with lovers names, a little like tree carvings. This phenomenon is not exclusive to this bridge as other cities claim their own "piece of art" and "romance". But this one is such a beautiful bridge, I was a little surprised that I liked what I saw. The locks give it additional character; it becomes much more alive. Some might not agree with me. I for one, like the humor and the cheekiness of it all. Proof of unstoppable evolution if you will.

I love that this one and its secret message can be retrieved if things don't pan out. combination memorized: check!
Aaaaah Paris... always different, forever the same.
au revoir.
What a beautiful bridge and I like the padlocks. Remember seeing this in a book, but I haven't seen them myself..:)
