PART ONE
The Chelsea Antiques Fair
March is a busy month for a wide variety of English Antique dealers.
The high end BADA Fair (British Antique Dealers Association) took place in mid-March in a tent in Chelsea near the new Satcchi Gallery in the Sloane Square area. Prices run on the higher end and some of the UK' s best dealers participate.
The Chelsea Antiques Fair, a more modest event, took place down the King's Road at the Chelsea Town Hall from the 17th to the 21st of March. Having the two fairs so close makes it easy for serious buyers to see lots of options quickly. International buyers can start in Maastricht then take the Eurostar to London for a final shopping installment.

The purity and patination of the early Georgian "Low Boy" ads great warmth to a space.

Merci beaucoup, Nan
au revoir.
Fabulous post. I have always loved when classical and modern are mixed together. It gives lightness and a sense of I-don't-take-myself-too-seriously to a room while conveying elegance and quality. I especially like the tall thin sculpture on the small chest of drawer behind the Chippendale side table and modern painting on the Bada stand. The soft grey of the walls, the few colours and the spareness of the room make everything pop out. No wonder the dealer got a prize. It makes me want to change everything at home.
ReplyDeleteGreat posts, Nan. Can't wait fot the next one.
