PART TWO
Mid century modern
March is a busy month for a wide variety of English Antique dealers. The high end BADA Fair (British Antique Dealers Association) took place in mid-March in a tent in Chelsea near the new Satcchi Gallery in the Sloane Square area.  Prices run on the higher end and some of the UK' s best dealers participate.
Included here are photographs of items at another London fair held in March which draws an entirely different crowd.  The recent Mid-Century Modern Fair at Dulwich College is a mecca for collectors and buyers of furniture and objects from the 50's to the 70's.  Held in a 1960's school auditorium, it attracts lots of families and young children as well as collectors of a variety of mid-century pieces that are primarily British and Scandinavian.

This is a wonderfully graphic set of six Brazilian rosewood dining chairs

4 chairs from the 1960's in a pristine and cheerful raspberry flamed velvet.
One of a pair of striking English 1950's armchairs

A matching set: a two seater and three seater Danish sofas in the original leather from the 1960's.
Merci Nan.

  1. It's amazing to me that these 1960's chairs are so "modern". Fifty years later they would look fantastic in a loft. The pink velvet chairs would look great in an office or around a dining table and the leather sofas are so sleek and elegant. Great post.Thank you Nan.
