JADITE

LA VAISSELLE en VERRE "JADITE"
"Milk glass is an opaque or translucent, milky white or colored glass, blown or pressed into a wide variety of shapes. First made in Venice in the 16th century, colors include blue, pink, yellow, brown, black, and the white that leads to its popular name." -wikepedia- Jadite is a brand name of Fire-King, a pressed milk glass tableware company from the 30' and as its name indicates, is the color of jade.
I have loved the pieces of Jadite from the 40's, also called Jadeware, I have collected in antique shows and flea markets for its soft green tone and silky smoothness. Martha Stewart reedited Jadeware a few years ago, but I like the idea that these are vintage and were used by another family long before me.

glass cabinet doors reveal a small collection of Jadite from the 40's

and a few models I don't own;

Though these would certainly be perfect with my collection, I would not use only Jadite on a table; I mix Jadite with various other plates, various colors even different patterns, so what I do have is enough to set fun tables. There is not much to add but "please admire".
